BIRTHDAY GIFTS

Hello my lovely readers 🙂 How’s everything going?

The 30th of March was my birthday I turned 22 years old and I celebrated with my family and friends and I just had the most lovely day. So today I want to share with you some gifts that I’ve received. It’s not to brag about them it’s just I wanted to give my opinion about this products. Plus it may be that I’m a bit nosey, but I love to read this kind of posts.

HP ENY 13′ LAPTOP

Okk I definitely don’t get a computer all of my birthdays, but I really needed a new computer. Since I study computer science I have to do a lot of coding and in my 8 year old computer it took me 10 seconds to write a single dot. So I wanted a new computer that wasn’t heavy so I could carry it to Uny without breaking by back. But I also wanted a windows operated  laptop because most of the programs that we use in my University are based on Window. That’s why I decided to go for the HP ENVY. Its shape and weight is the same as the mac book air. It’s a really fast computer with very good hardware characteristics and I’m just in love with it.

The Silvercreast headphones

I’ve never owned pair of headphones before, so I was excited when I received this gift. The sound it’s amazing, they have a super long cable and they have a hole where you can plug another headphones so two people can listen to the same music at the same time.

IMGP0715

The RelaxArt colouring book

I love colouring because it really relaxes me, this has happened to me since I was a little girl, and that’s one of the reasons I love make up . So for my birthday I received this adults colouring book that have like natural and decoration motives. I like it so much that I’ve already painted three pages on my free time and it reminded me how much I loved it.

A beauty blender

I just said I love make up and beauty so, can you believe I didn’t own a beauty blender? I’m just in love with the result, it leaves a beautiful natural airbrushed affect and the foundation doesn’t look cakey at all.

IMGP0714

A Bijou Brigitte statement necklace

I’m so glad I received a statement necklace because I don’t own a lot of them and I believe they can really change a look. I love this one because it doesn’t only have shine in the centre but also all around the chain. I also like that the metal parts are golden.

IMGP0699

A LuciaBe pen

I really love this gift because I study a lot and sometimes it can gets a bit stressing, so I think it’s a lovely idea to carry around a pen with an uplifting message like this one that says “If you day is gray paint it”. I also love hoy cute is the drawing in the pen.

IMGP0700

The Primark Gardenia and Jasmine scented candle

When I received this gift it was if they had read my mind because I love scented candles and I was looking for a spring one. This one has a lovely flowery smell and it also has my favourite colour.

IMGP0698

A leather jacket and a cropped jean jacket

Both of this items are super basic but I really wanted them because I think they never go out of fashion and they look super cool. I love how a leather jacket adds a bit of an edgy style to a look and I’m looking forward to wear the cropped jean jacket with some Summer dresses, I think it’s a perfect and cute combination.

Have you ever tried a beauty blender? Do you own a colouring book?

Unique home decor

Hello my lovely readers 🙂 How’s everything going?

As you may already know I love unique products, so today I want to share with you a company web page that I’ve been loving.  The company is Uncommon Goods and it honestly has the most original products I’ve ever seen. They sell accessories, home décor products, art, games… but they are not the common products you find in every store, as the company name remarks.  Most of the products are handmade which make them even more special.

A very interesting thing about this web page is that it’s a kind of art gallery. For each product they tell you the story behind the product and a bit of the life of the designer. And they also show you another products designed by the same person. Isn’t it a very interesting concept?

If you want to check out the Uncommon Goods web page you can click here.

I’ve been scrolling through their web page and I’d like to share with you the products that I’ve enjoyed the most.

One of my favorite products of Uncommon Good is their Bookends, they are very cute, funny and singular. The one I love the most is this giraffe Family Bookend, it’s so adorable and lovely. If you want to check out more of their bookends you can click here.

jiraffe

Another thing I love about Uncommon Goods is that you can also personalize many of their products. For example, I love this original ash tree guestbook. The idea is that the people that come to your house put their finger print on the tree and then they sign it. You can personalize the message in the paper and choose the ink pads colors that you prefer. I think it looks really cute and you’ll love to watch it from time to time to remember who has been in your house. If you want to check out more art pieces you can click here.

Another product you can personalize is these astrology pillows, in which you can pick your astrology sign. I think it’ll look very cute if a couple would put a pillow on each side of their bed with their sign. I really like its colors and the fact that it looks like watercolor paintings. If you want to check more pillows and blankets you can click here.

Finally I’d like to share with you the furniture section, in which I’ve personally liked the dumpling floor pouf. I’ve always wanted a pouf because there are the most comfortable and cosy thing in the world. If you want to check out more furniture pieces you can click here.

Even though it’s based in USA, Uncommon Goods ships their products to most countries.

Have you checked out their web page? What’s your favourite product?

SMALL WAYS TO BE MORE ECO-FRIENDLY

Hello my lovely readers 🙂 How’s everything going?

As most of you already know from November 30 to December 11 the 2015 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP 21) is being held in Paris, were our politicians will meet in order to hopefully reach an agreement. I think this conference is really important since in less 150 years the temperature of our planet (which has 4.54 billion years) has rise 0.85ºC. If the temperature keeps raising the consequences will be terrible, as you can see in this video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9GjrS8QbHmY

So today I’m going to share with 10 habits I like to add in my life in order to be a little bit more eco-friendly. I really think that small changes in peoples life can change the world. This habits also help me to save a lot of money.

image

1.- This one is obvious and I’m sure most of you already do it but it’s really important to recycle.

2.- I usually go with my bike almost everywhere. I actually prefer using the bike because I can leave it almost everywhere, but with the car if I go to the city centre I spend a lot of time trying to find a parking place. If it’s raining or I’m going somewhere to far away, I try to use the public transportation.

3.- I use LED lights, which consume much less energy and give the same amount of light, this way I’m also saving money.

image

4.- I always unplug the electronic devices when I’m not using them. Some devices (like the TV) keep spending a lot of energy.

5.- I search for aerosols which says they are respectful with the ozone layer. I look for aerosols with the symbol in the picture.

image

6.- In the Winter I try to put the central heating as low as possible. I wear pyjamas that are very thick, as well as worm robes. This pyjama I’m wearing in the picture is from a local store and it’s made out of this kind of super soft cosy material, I believe it was only 15€.

image

To keep my feet super worm during the winter I like to use this kind of cosy soft socks. This ones are from Primark and I bought a set of three for 3€.

image

I also like to put a blanket in the sofa so when I lay down I feel super worm, cosy and comfortable. I don’t know what’s my thing with blankets, but in Summer I really miss laying down in the sofa covered with a blanket. This blanket from the picture it’s from Primark and it was 10€.

image

7.- I try to save water by doing small things such as closing the tab while I’m washing my teeth or while I’m putting soap on the dishes. Also I try not to have baths very often (this is probably the hardest), I only do it in special days when I’m really stressed out (like after exams time). I only have a bath once every two or three months (meanwhile I take a lot of showers).

image

8.- I like to buy second hand clothes this way I don’t only help the environment but I also save a lot of money. For example I bought this Zara Woman coat in a second hand store for only 10€ when it’s actual price it’s around 70€.

image

9.- I try to use rechargeable batteries. I know now in Christmas lots of us use battery operated lights, so you can buy a set of rechargeable batteries, this way you’ll also save a lot of money.

image

10.- I try to use a stronger, reusable bag when I go shopping rather than a plastic bag.

Do you have any different habit that’s eco-friendly? What are your hopes on the COP 21?

Hello my lovely readers 🙂 How’s everything going??

Today my blog reaches it’s first year and I couldn’t be happier with the decision I made one year ago. I write and put effort into my posts because I love writing them and letting my creativity side out; it’s not because I’m getting any money (actually I haven’t earn a single cent from this blog and I haven’t received any free products either).

1.- My favourite food is potato omelette.

2.- I’m studying a double degree in maths and computer science and I’m in my forth year.

3.-My birthday is on the 30th of March and right now I’m 21 years old.

4.- I absolutely love dancing. My mum says I danced even when I was a baby.

5.- My favourite film is the pursuit of happiness.

6.- My favourite colour is yellow, but not any yellow, is the colour of the leaves in Autumn.

7.- I practised ballet for 8 years and rhythmic gymnastics for 6 years.

8.- I’d love to live at least one year in the United Kingdom.

9.- I can speak Spanish, French, English and a bit of German.

10.- I really love laughing, specially at myself.

11.-I try to go everywhere by bike.

12.-My favourite book is Fahrenheit 451.

WHAT DO I HAVE IN MY SCHOOL BAG

Hello my lovely readers 🙂 How’s everything going?

Today I want to share with you what’s inside my school bag and how I organise my school notes. Tomorrow I start university again, I’m in my fourth year of my double degree in maths and computer science, hopefully I’ll end up this school year graduating as a mathematician.

I really love the bag I’m currently using because it look more put together that average fabric school bags. I bought this bag in Bershka. I know a lot of girls carry a bag around university, but for me it’s impossible because I carry a lot of weight and the good thing for my back is to dvide the weight between the two shoulders.

image

First I’m going to share with you what I carry in my small pocket. I always carry a bottle of water because it’s really easy to feel thirsty during classes, right now I’m loving this Frozen bottle of water. I also take with my a cereal bar and a pack of chewing gum since it’s very easy to feel hungry during classes. My hair usually bothers me a lot, that’s why I always carry a hair band to take it away from my face, and a comb just in case I didn’t have enough time at home to comb my hair at home. I also carry a hand cream since my hand tend to get really dry during the winter, I’m loving this Cien hand cream that smells like Cherries. Finally I bring with me my headphones because sometimes I listen to music in the library while I’m studying.

wpid-wp-1442264147187.png

On the other part of my school bag I carry my prescription glasses, my pencil case and my school folder. I also carry my calculator, which is an essential to me since I’m studying maths. I also take with me my wallet just in case I want to buy something in the cafeteria or to make some photocopies.

image

I inherited this pencil case from my mother, I think she bought it in Turkey, anyway I really like it because it goes very well with the school bag. I carry the essential things I need to write. I also carry my USB although I’d recommend you to also save your documents in other places as Dropbox or Google Drive just in case you loose it. I also carry my earplugs because when I’m studying I like to isolate from the outside noise in order to focus better in what I’m reading. I also carry my Maybelline Baby Lips since my lips tend to get very dry on winter.

image

My pink folder it’s very useful for organising yourself, it has 13 sections, on the first one I carry all the white sheets of paper. Since I have 6 subject I use two sections to each subject and I put small titles to each section. To keep my sheets in order I use this kind of paper clips, which I found more useful than the average ones.

image

Are you exited to go back to school/university? Do you have any trick to organise yourself?

Gabriela from “Iulia’s corner”

How would you describe your blog?

My blog it’s about my personal experience, because, before I started my blog, I had a hard time on finding certain information, that I needed at that moment. After researching and taking notes, I decided to share all the information I gathered with other people, who were in the same situation as I was at the beginning. My blog it’s about helping others, and maybe inspiring them as well.

What do you like most about blogging?

The thing I most love about blogging it’s that I can help others with a piece of advice or an ideea. I think I can express better myself true written words :). Also I got to know some amazing bloggers, that I respect and look up to.

Can you tell us a bit about yourself?

As time passed, I learned to love and repect myself, to enjoy all the beautiful things and people that surround me. Life is beautiful and we must see the good things in it. Beside that, I love make-up very much and I also enjoy discovering great beauty products.

Mia from “The Beautoralist”

How would you describe your blog?

I would describe it as a blog where beauty and fashion is the prevalent focus.

What do you like most about blogging?

Most certainly the interaction with my followers! I love learning about everyone who comments and such. It’s like I have all of these pen pals from all over the world! I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know people, some very well actually. It also forces me to try and manage my time better. I am extremely busy most days and sometimes put blogging on the back burner, but then when I come back to it, I remember how much I love doing it all over again!

Can you tell us a bit about yourself?

Well for a start, I live and breathe fashion! I merrily plan my outfits in advance! Personally, I do not dress too trendy. I am more about elegant sophistication. Fall/Winter is my favourite time of the year, I feel some of the most beautiful clothes ever to come down the runway, happens during the Fall/Winter seasons. I love to dress up, and my husband always jokes about the fact that my casual wear consists usually of a Rachel Pally maxi dress, heels, and a fabulous bag! In a twist of fate, turns out my daughter is a total and utter tomboy! She will not let me buy her anything pink! We have 4 guinea pigs, the most amazing pets! In college I was a biology/microbiology major, and also studied foreign language and history. I have made it a point in life to eat sushi at least once a week!

Joy from “Styled with Joy”

How would you describe your blog?

Styled with Joy is a place where beauty and fashion meet lifestyle. I’m most known for Manicure Mondays because I enjoy creating new designs every week. I even take requests, as they challenge me to do something I have never done before. I also do OOTDs which are fun for me to write about and of course to read. I post makeup and skincare reviews, and I have recently been doing hair tutorials and cooking easy yummy recipes.

What do you like most about blogging?

Besides getting to write about what I like to write about daily, I really like meeting people who are interested in the same things I’m interested in. There may even be times where the comment thread turns into a conversation about things that may not even be beauty related. Not only do we communicate via each other’s blogs, we also follow each other’s social media.  Somehow we all just click in this little space on the internet and making blogging friends has been the best.

Can you tell us a bit about yourself?

I’ve been blogging since the end of January 2015 and I plan to blog daily until January 2016. I’m on a makeup no buy so it is challenging when I don’t have the newest products to review and enjoy, but it does help me with actually finishing up some makeup. I hope that my personality shows in my writing and especially in the comment section because I really like the friendships I have made so far.

Sauyri from Pounce to life

How would you describe your blog?

My blog is a place where I share my experiences from beauty to life (the ups and downs). I do SEVERAL reviews on beauty products (shampoos, conditioners, foundations, lipsticks, est). My greatest hope is that people will find friends and common experiences through my blog and to provide my followers with information on products so that when its time for a shopping spree they can make informed choices.

What do you like most about blogging?
I LOVE MEETING NEW PEOPLE. I’m not a big clubbing person so I don’t really have an outlet for meeting new friends. So the best part about blogging is meeting new people, talking to them, reading their post, learning more about them and ultimately making a new friend =D
Can you tell us a bit about yourself?
I’m a college going opinionated girl who loves cats =P sounds simple but that’s me in a nutshell.                                                                                                                                                                                                                            I hope you all have a lovely life and that I’ll hear from you soon.

Cheap way of traveling

Hello my lovely readers 🙂 How’s everything going?

I’m sorry I haven’t posted in a long time but that’s because I was in a Summer vacation with my friends in Portugal. We have spend there 10 days and I have really enjoyed it. When my friends and I travel we usually do it the cheapest way we go to hostels,we fly with low cost companies…

So in order to save some money we don’t check in any luggage and we just travel with the hand luggage. The usual maximum dimensions allowed for a bag are 55cm x 40cm x 20cm and it shouldn’t weight more than 10 kg (you should check this out because it changes from one company to the other). But you’re also allowed to bring a small bag up to 35 x 20 x 20 cms. So brought a suitcase with similar dimensions as the ones allowed and a school backpack.

image

In my backpack I brought the essential handy things that I might need during the flight. Such as a jumper (because it’s usually cool inside a plane), my glasses, a lip balm and my wallet. I also bring an empty bottle of water (yeap, this bottle is of Frozen) just in case I’m feeling thirsty so I can fill it in the the bathroom and my travel sickness pills. I know it’s not allowed to bring food into the plane but sometimes they let you bring it if it’s a small packed food such as mentos or a cereal bar. Of course I also put in my backpack some earphones and my mobile phone, which you should always remember to put on plane mode.

IMGP0340

When I travel I always need to wear super comfortable clothes. So this time I decided to wear some baggy trousers whit a red t-shirt and super comfortable slipper looking shoes.

IMGP0349

Inside my suitcase I bring all the other things that I need. We went for 10 days to Portugal and I didn’t even wear all the clothes I brought, it’s unbelievable how much it can fit inside such a small suitcase. Since you can bring only 10 kg I would recommend you not to buy a heavy suitcase. Since it’s such a small suitcase I always use a lot of different bags to keep the order.

IMGP0341

When the check in time comes you should put outside a transparent bag of 20 x 20 cm with all the liquids you have, they only allow you to bring bottles of 100 ml. So I always carry small samples bottles for my short trips. But, for example, I couldn’t bring enough sun screen so my friends and I bought a bottle in Portugal for the four of us. Also to remove your makeup I found more useful to bring cleansing wipes.

IMGP0344

Another thing that really helps me to save some space is taking with me microfibre towels, plus they are great because that get dry very easily. Since we were going to the beach I had to bring two towels with me. One of them has a bag so it takes almost no space in my suitcase.

IMGP0345

What are your tricks to travel cheap? Are planning to go anywhere in Summer?

xoxo Darly

New year’s eve

New year’s eve is one of my favourite days in the whole year.I start helping my mum cooking dinner, I love to be in the kitchen cooking and being able to enjoy such a nice scent orchestra.

At nine usually my family arrives and we have the most delicious dinner in the world, I’m a food lover and look forward all the year to Christmas dinner. The dinner has a lot of different courses, my favourites ones are young ells, big prawns, lamb and of course dessert. As dessert we have something similar to nougat (my favourite is the one made out of almonds), marzipans and other typical Spanish sweets which I just realised it doesn’t exist a word in English to name them.

At 12 o’clock in Spain is very typical to turn the TV on and listen to “the 12 bell strokes”, in each bell stroke you must eat one grape and make a wish for the new year, it may seem easy but the bell strokes are quite fast so you end up with your mouth full with grapes and having to shout “¡Feliz año nuevo!” (“Happy new year!”). Lest but not last we have a toast with Champagne for the new year and we go out to the balcony to watch the fireworks.

uvas

Afterwards I get ready and I go out with my friends to a party in a disco. Every one goes to very well dressed, all the boys wear their suits and all the girls wear party dresses. So I’m going to share with you my last year style which may help you to choose your outfit for tomorrow. Instead of wearing a dress (as I have done all the previous years) I decided to wear my shorts with golden sequins and black t-shirt with some shiny stones next to the neck. I love the the way the sparkles in the t-shirt match with the sparkles from the shorts without being too much, I think these add a more festive/parting look to the outfit. Finally I wore black thermic tights and black boots. What I also love about this look is the way the golden shorts break the total black look, usually when I go out parting in winter I wear black tights and most of my parting dresses are black so I always end up in a total black outfit.

image

T-shirt: Stradivarius. Shorts: Stradivarius. Boots: Primark.

I also wanted to wish you a very happy new year, I hope you can accomplish all your new year’s resolutions and you have an ever better year than this one.

What’s your favourite thing about new year’s eve? What are you planning to wear?

xoxo Darly

DIY easy Christmas nail art

I didn’t have the time to write a post to say Merry Christmas but I hope you all had a lovely evening. The Christmas spirit has entered my body so today I’m going to do a super easy and fast Christmas nail art.

IMGP0095

The trick for cresting both of the look is using sellotape. I know that they sell other things that are made specially for this purpose but sellotape is something everybody has at home and I believe the effect is very similar.

IMGP0104

Little Santa hats.

For doing the nail art we are just going to need one red nail polish and one white nail polish.

b3

First you cut two pieces of sellotape which are a bit bigger than the size of your nail. You put them on your nail trying to create a triangular shape. You must be careful and really stick the edges of the selotape to your nails so when we remove the sellotape the lines of the triangle are very defined.

Now you paint that triangle you’ve created with the red nail polish, it doesn’t matter if you go out of the line because when we remove the sellotape it’s going to look perfect.

b6

You must really make sure that the nail polish is properly dried when you remove the sellotape.

b7

Now we add the hat details with a white nail polish.First you draw a small spot on the top of the triangle, which is going to be the pompom of the hat and you add a line at the bottom of the hat.

b9

As a final step you put a coat of transparent nail polish so it looks nicer and it lasts longer.

Now you can paint all your nails with hats or you can just do one nail in each hand and paint the rest of the nails in red or white. It literally didn’t take me more than 10 minutes to do this.

Little Christmas trees.

For doing the nail art we are just going to need one green nail polish and one golden glitter nail polish.

As I said before first you cut two pieces of sellotape which are a bit bigger than the size of your nail. You put them on your nail trying to create a triangular shape. You must be careful and really stick the edges of the sellotape to your nails so when we remove the sellotape the lines of the triangle are very defined.

Now you paint that triangle you’ve created with the green nail polish, it doesn’t matter if you go out of the line because when we remove the sellotape it’s going to look perfect.

Once the green nail polish is properly dried you apply a coat of golden glitter nail polish.

You must really make sure that the nail polish is properly dried when you remove the sellotape.

As a final step you put a coat of transparent nail polish so it looks nicer and it lasts longer.

Now you can paint all your nails with trees or you can just do one nail in each hand and paint the rest of the nails in green. It literally didn’t take me more than 10 minutes to do this.
