LIGHT CURD CHEESECAKE

Hello my lovely readers 🙂 How’s everything going?

Today I want to share with you one of  my favourite recipes, it’s a curd cheese cake. My mum used to make it for me when I was younger but she stopped baking it, so for my birthday I asked her if she could bake one and teach me how to do it, so this way I could teach you. I love this cake because it’s super tasty and it isn’t very unhealthy because it doesn’t have a lot of sugar or grease.

Ingredients:

  • 3 curd yoghurts
  • 8 light triangle cheeses (the ones similar to the laughing cow)
  • 2 curd powder envelopes
  • 1/2 liter of milk
  • Soft sponge fingers
  • Stevia
  • Marmalade (optional)

1

First we begin to mix the three curd yoghurts, the 8 triangle cheeses and 3 spoons of stevia with a mixer until we get a uniform mixture.

2

From the 1/2 milk litre we put away 100ml and we mixed them with the two envelopes of curd powder and 1 spoon of stevia.

3

We put the rest of the milk in a pot and we wait until it boils, then we add the 100ml of milk that have been previously mixed with the curd powder.

4

We put it away from the fire and we mix it, with the previous curd yoghurt and cheese mixture, until it’s uniform and we pour it into a mold. Then we put some soft sponge fingers on the top of the mixture in order to use them as a base.

5

We leave it in the fridge for three or four hours and we take it out of the mold. If you want you can put some jelly on the top, I’d recommend to use cranberry marmalade. If you want you can decorate it some other way because it already tastes amazing by itself. For example I decided to decorate it with some frozen cranberries and a nut.

6

So this is the final result. I hope you liked this recipe and if you try it at home I’d love to see the results, so you can share them with me trough twitter or instagram.

Have you ever heard of curd cake? What’s your favourite cake?

FIRST YOUTUBE VIDEO: FLOWER GARLAND

Hello my lovely readers 🙂 How’s everything going?

Spring is right behind the corner so today I want to share with a super easy and cute flower DIY. I decided to make my first YouTube video to show with you how to do it. I was very nervous to make it because my first language isn’t English and my camera doesn’t have the best video quality, but I wanted to try out how’d I handle to make a video. Even thought the quality and my accent isn’t perfect I’m quite happy with the result.

Just in case you were wondering to edit the video I used Windows Movie Maker and it turned out to be much easier that I though. What I decided to do is to record the video separately for the audio, so if I made any mistake while I was talking I could improve it easily.

Do you have any tip on how could I improve my videos? Have you ever though about making YouTube videos?

DIY VALENTINE’S DAY CARDS

Hello my lovely readers 🙂 How’s everything going?

Valentine’s day is right behind the corner, so today I’d like to share with you some DIY valentine’s day cards. They are super easy and inexpensive to make but I also think they are very cute.

One thing I’ve to say is that Valentine’s day is a day to celebrate love whether is to your love, friends or family. I enjoy Valentine’s day the same the years when I have a couple as the years when I’m single. I hate to read that some people get a bit sad because they don’t have a couple, it’s a day to celebrate love in all it’s ways. So you can give this cards to a friend or a family member and I’m sure they’ll appreciate it a lot and you’ll make their day better. So with no further do let’s get into the DIY.

For the first card all you will need is a white cardboard, a needle and some red thread.

image

The first step is to draw a heart in the cardboard. You can do it by hand or you can use the trick that I used: First you fold a sheet in half and you draw half a heart.

image

Then you cut the shape of the half heart and the result is a heart totally symmetrical.

image

Then using a pencil draw the shape of the heart into your cardboard. It’s important to use a pencil and not mark it very hard because we’ll erase it later.

image

Next step is to make holes around the heart shape that we have draw, afterwards just erase the pencil.

image

Then all you have to do is to start crossing the read thread from one hole to the other, until you are happy with the result.

image

The next card it’s really easy to make but also very funny and cute. All we will need for this card is a red permanent marker, white cardboard and a balloon.

First we are going to start by filling in the balloon and writing “too much” on it. It’s important you don’t deflate it until you are sure the marker it’s completely dry.

image

Then in the cardboard write “I love you a little bit…”, you can write it with a cute handwriting  but my marker was to thick so I had to do a plain handwriting. Anyway you can also decorate the card with different cute shapes like hearts or kisses. The points in the down part of my card where meant to be hearts, but my marker was so bad that I finally had to transform them into circles…

image

Finally stick the balloon to the card, now you can either decide to put the message of the balloon on the front or hide it. I personally find it more funny to hide it so when they open it they are like “What?” estranged but then they can check the balloon and be like “aaawww”.

This is how it’ll finally look:

Microwave Carrot Cake

Hello my lovely readers 🙂 How’s everything going?

Today I want to share with you a Carrot Cake Microwave recipe. I feel carrot cake it’s the perfect Autumn treat, maybe it’s the carrot or the cinnamon but I feel it’s a very Autumnal recipe. It’s a very quick and easy recipe, it’s very useful for people who doesn’t have an oven or like mine it’s full with frying pans. Also I tried to make this recipe as healthy as possible.

The ingredients we are going to need are:

  • Three eggs
  • Carrots
  • One natural yoghurt
  • Brown sugar
  • Flower (better if it’s specially for sponge cake)
  • Backing powder
  • Olive oil
  • Cinnamon
  • Ginger
  • Cream cheese
  • Powdered sugar
  • Nuts

CarrotCake1

First step:

In a bowl you add the 3 eggs, 1 backing powder envelope (16 gr), one natural yoghurt, 3 flour yoghurt measurement, 2 brown sugar yoghurt measurement and 1 olive oil yoghurt measurement, 2 teespoons of cinnamon and one teespoon of ginger. Then just mix everything together with a mixer until there are no lumps.

CarrotCake2

Second step:

Now you just want to cut the carrots in little cubes, I decided to go for sliced carrots because it’s much faster. Then when you’re done cutting just add it to the mixture and mix it with a hand blender, as you can see in the picture.

CarrotCake3

CarrotCake4

Third step:

Put the mixture into a container that is compatible with the microwave and heat it at 800 W for 4 minutes.

CarrotCake5

I know the shape is not as good as the one in the oven, but it’s much quicker and it also tastes really good.

CarrotCake6

Forth step:

For the icing you just need to mix the cream cheese with the powdered sugar. You can add as much sugar as you like, personally I like it very sweet.

CarrotCake7

Then just cut the cake in half and put the icing in the middle.

CarrotCake8

CarrotCake9

Finally just put the icing on the top of the cake. If you want you can add some nuts to decorate or sprinkle some cinnamon on the top.

CarrotCake10

So this is the final result. I hope you liked this recipe and if you try it at home I’d love to see the results, so you can share them with me trough twitter or instagram.

BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY’S SLEEP MASK DIY

Hello my lovely readers 🙂

Maybe you can tell from my profile picture but I absolutely love Audrey Hepburn, specially her role in Breakfast at Tiffany’s. So today I want to share with you an inspired Holly Golightly sleep mask DIY.

Materials you will need

  • Felt
  • Glue for fabric
  • Elastic (Better if it’s golden)
  • Gold sequins
  • Gold tread
  • Sleep mask pattern

IMGP0511

Step 1

Print out or draw the pattern and cut out. I know mine is not perfectly draw so if you want to make your one you should take into account that the eyelids must be bigger that the eyelashes so when you stick the eyelids you can create a 3-D effect.

3

Step 2

Trace around the pattern with a permanent marker. You will need two pieces of the mask and two eye lids. You will also need to draw the eyelashes on the black felt. If you don’t have black felt just paint the blue one with the permanent marker. Cut them out.

IMGP0512

IMGP0513

Step 3

Glue the eyelashes to the underside of the eyelids. Set these aside to dry. Meanwhile glue one end from each piece of the elastic to either side of the mask.

IMGP0514

While you let these two dry, take the other piece of the mask and cut four pieces with the size of the eyebrows from the gold thread. Glue two of them on each eyebrow.

IMGP0515

Step 4

When everything is dry is time to glue the eye lids. In order to create a 3-D effect first you should glue the top on the eyelid. Once it’s dry glue the sides trying to make them “bubble up”, two pegs can be very handy in these step.

IMGP0516

Step 5

Glue the two main pieces of the mask together, put an extra of glue on the elastic part.

IMGP0517

Step 6

Glue the gold sequins all the way around the edge on the front of the mask.

IMGP0520

Step 7

Since I didn’t own a gold elastic and the white one didn’t look very well, I decided to paint it golden with the astor colour pop and a brush.

IMGP0523

So this is the final result. I hope you liked this DIY and if you try it at home I’d love to see the results, so you can share them with me trough twitter or instagram.

AUTUMN GARLAND DIY

Hello my lovely readers 🙂

Today I wanted to share with you an easy, quick and inexpensive DIY but which also looks very cute. I’m going to show you how to make your own Autumn garland.

You will need

  • A pair of scissors.
  • A pencil
  • Some cardboard (I used a box old biscuits).
  • A brush
  • A paint of your choice, mine is a beautiful copper paint but the camera doesn’t get its shine properly.
  • Some thread .It’s better, if the colour of the thread is the same colour as the background, where you want to set your garland.
  • A needle.

image

First you should draw some leaves on your cardboard with the pencil. You can either draw them yourself or you can print a drawing from the internet. I opted to draw them myself (thank goodness they turned out quite well).

image

After it you should cut with the scissors, as you can see they don’t all look the same but that’s ok, natural leaves are never identical.

image

Then you shall proceed to pain your leaves. I decided to paint them with two coats. If one of the sides of the leaves, is going to be facing the wall you don’t need to paint it, no one will notice.

image

Finally you just have to make a hole on the steam of the leave and pass the thread through it, this way you create a beautiful garland.

image

image

You can set it by itself but I decided it’d look cuter and cosier with this fairy lights that I already owned.

image

If you recreate this DIY, I’d love to see your results, you can either share them with me through Twitter, Instagram or WordPress.

Are you loving any special DIY these days? Do you like Autumn?
