Hello My lovely readers π How’s everything going?
Today I’m going to share with you the pictures that I took on my day trip to Cambridge. Cambridge is Europe’s top university for Mathematical studies, since I studied that, I was really excited to visit it.
The first thing we visited was King’s college, which was founded in 1441. Some famous people who studied there were Alan Turing or the economist Keynes.
Next to King’s College is the Corpus clock, which is is a large sculptural clock at street level on the outside of the Taylor Library at Corpus Christi College. It was unveiled in 2008 by Stephen Hawking, who studied in Trinity Hall in Cambridge.
From there we went down to the river to visit the Mathematical Bridge, which is part of Queen’s college.
Then we lied down next to the river, while we were watching people punting. A punt is a flat-bottomed boat with a square-cut bow. The punter generally propels the punt by pushing against the river bed with a pole.
Then we continued walking by the “backs”, which where several colleges of the University of Cambridge back on to the River Cam, their grounds covering both banks of the river. Is a really nice and relaxing view.
We arrived to trinity college. Some famous people who has studies there are Isaac Newton, Bertrand Rusell or Prince Charles.
On the front of the Trinity college, there’s an apple tree planted in honor of Newton’s story.
Finally walking next to the river we arrived at St Jones College. Some famous people who has studied here are Derek Jacobi or Paul Dirac.
Finally we visited the round church, which was built around 1130. It’s so cute and it personally reminds me of something you’d see in Harry Potter movie.
Have you ever been to Cambridge? Do you know anyone who studied there? What did you study at university?
xoxo Darly
