Hello my lovely readers π How’s everything going?
Sorry I haven’t posted in a while but I’ve been quite busy the last weeks. As you know I spent all of July and August in London. While staying in England I tried to travel to other places, so today I’m going to share with you the pictures that I took in Oxford.
The first thing we visited was the Divinity school which is a medieval building, part of the University of Oxford.Β The building by itself was beautiful, but I was particular excited because many Harry Potter scenes were filmed in this location.
In this room was used in Harry Potter as the Hogwarts Infirmary, it’s also were Professor McGonagall teaches Ron how to dance for the Yule Ball…
Next to the Divinity School there’s the Bridge of Sights. Its name is because of its supposed similarity to the famous Bridge of Sighs in Venice.
Then we visited The Radcliffe Camera, which is a reading room. The architecture is beautiful.
Next to the Radcliffe Camera there’s All Souls College, which is the only college where all of its members automatically become fellows. Is one of the wealthiest colleges in Oxford. Some people say that Tolkien took inspiration in the towers you can see in the picture for the two towers in the Lord of the Rings.
After that we walked to Christ Church college. I was also very excited to visit it because some Harry Potter scenes where also shoot in here. The dinning room in Harry Potter was inspired by the one in the college.
If you want to go in you have to pay but I have a trick if you go at 6pm and you say you’re going to go to the service you can go inside for free.
In this staircase they shoot the scene where the wizarding trio arrives at Hogwarts and enters the Great Hall for the first time.
After we went to the river to relax and saw people practising rowing.
Finally we visited Oxford’s castle.
Have you ever been to Oxford? Are you a Harry Potter fan?
xoxo Darly

Wonderful buildings! I never read the books but stayed briefly at man’s house who loved and thus owned all the Harry Potter movies. I watched the entire series and loved it!

Lovely pictures. Can you imagine studying (maybe you have!) in a location not just picturesque, but where so much history has taken place? Interesting bits about Harry Potter.
