ALFAJERÍA PALACE

Hello my lovely readers 🙂 How’s everything going?

A few months ago I went with my friends to Zaragoza, a big city in the middle-north of Spain. My friend and I decided to go to the Alfajería Palace, which is a fortified medieval Islamic palace built during the second half of the 11th century.Since we are students the ticket was only 1€ and we also had a free tour. If you go to Zaragora in Winter make sure to bring some warm clothes with you, because it’s really cold.

As you can see in this picture it looks like a Christian palace outside, doesn’t it look like a fairy tale palace? The hole palace it a great mixture between Islamic and Christian style, so it creates a very special combination.

Once inside the palace, you find this beautiful Islamic style yard with beautiful arcs, orange trees and lots of details.

As you walk trough the inside of the palace you find many gorgeous pieces of architecture. Just imagine how much time they must have need to make each detail.  I really love Islamic intricate architecture with all the little details and geometric figures.

Where was the last place that you have travelled to? Have you ever been to Zaragoza?

  1. I visited Zaragoza in April (as part of a Spanish exchange) It was still quite windy and cold then, so we had to wear coats! We also went to Alfajería palace and the outside yard was absolutely beautiful! The Islamic style is truly unique 😍 Hope you had fun!
